Error cent question

So I have this off-center cent. I have a couple others and an off-center jefferson. They are nice and smooth around the edges where the off-center occurs. This lincoln cent I have looks very rough around the edges. Anyone know what might have caused it? Was just looking and misc coins I have and was curious. Thanks!
Bobby

I don't know the answer to your question but here's a fun fact: Your coin is a 1973.
No idea on the edge roughness... However, @MarkKelley... How do you determine the date on that cent?? Cheers, RickO
Are the FG initials a one-year type?
They were. As such, this enabled me to identify a handful of undated Lincoln errors in 1973 resulting in many nice purchases.
If you’re asking about the roughness on the blank portion of the off-center strike – that’s from counting or rolling machine damage
The FG initials were larger in 73 than any other year.
This is a perfect thread.
Thank you @FredWeinberg for your explanation. And thank you @MarkKelley . I did not know about the FG for 73' coins. Good to know. Thanks all for your responses.

You learn something new everyday! Nice error coin. I like the look and color.
I got a 1973 cent in change on Jan. 6, 1973 and noticed the change in the initials. I sent it to Coin World, figuring it might be worth a paragraph or two in CLearinghouse, and it must have been a slow news week because of the holidays and they splashed it all over the front page. Perhaps the publicity embarrassed the Mint, because they reduced them somewhat in 1974.
@MarkKelley So I'm not so sure mine is a 73'. My FG looks to sit a little lower like the normal ones.
