There obviously should not be a date on the label – and since the label does say mercury there’s no need for the parentheses 1916–1945 parentheses IMO

I see no disruption in the bands.
In fact those bands are so split, they left the coin altogether.

It was probably submitted during 1916 and this the date is actually known. Regarding the split bands, all we see is the space between the middle bands.
Probably worth a resubmittal, though, it’s a solid 64 to me (standards have loosened since 1916).
All you need now are some CAC and QA stickers
They forgot to list the D mintmark that could have been there.
This holder needs to be holdered as a holder error. 2 errors for the price of 1!

It looks like a '16-D to me!
Obviously the grader had 1916 on his mind. Maybe the coin before this was a 16. Just saying. Peace Roy

Did 1916 have a unique font on the lettering?

They're split bands, alright. They split right out of there.
Or, based on the date designation the grader must have been psychic, so I guess the bands are fair game as well.
Definitely not 95%, lock 92.5% for sure.
Something just doesn't smell right about this coin.**** It was probably graded on a Friday of a three day weekend, you know how those days are.

The 2 letters visible on the obverse look doubled.
When the certification is verified by putting in the cert number, it comes back as a no date MS63.
I suspect the coin was called back for relabeling.
