Venezuela Topps

Does anyone collect Venezuela Topps or Venezuelan Winter League Stickers? They are super tough to find and even hard to find in vg/ex or higher condition. Condition sensitive because they were stuck to albums and the climate in Venezuela.

These would be ok if they took the pens away from the youngsters!

I have all of the Cubs from 1959. 1960, 1962, 1964, 1966, 1967, 1968, and the 1972 and 1977 Stickers other than the 1959 Cream Back Tony Taylor and the 1972 Sticker of Jose Cardenal, I don't think the Cardenal exists.

Swish - love those Banks cards. Have his Topps run and would love to add those someday. Those look amazing together. Congrats on putting together an impossible run.

Thanks for the compliment! I am also working on a Banks run. Only need his 1971 OPC and I'll have every Topps, Venezuelan, and OPC from '54-71.

Good luck finding your ‘71. Would love to see a picture of them all together when you complete it.

That 62 has paper loss on the front and rounded corners. In fact, the corners are rounded yet brown, looks to me like they are recolored. Have you looked at that closely?

  • Options
    JoeBanzaiJoeBanzai Posts: 12,800 ✭✭✭✭✭

    Yes, not recolored.

I was pretty surprised at the grade on the '62. It was graded quite some time ago and I think they were easier on them back then.

With all the times I have been hammered on grades....................I'll take this one!

Nope, back is intact! I also have a 68 Bob Gibson and (2) 68 Willie Mays at PSA. I’ll share those when I get them back!

For a kid that grew up in the 60s and 70s it's hard to find a card with better star power. I'm sure there's a lot nicer than this one, but this has some pretty good players.

That is a great looking card that is high grade for a Venezuelan Topps card. I agree three MLB legends on one card is priceless.

Different card stock. Both the front and back look much more faded, almost like comparing the surface of a late-80s Tiffany card to a sheet of construction paper. For comparison, here's Topps and Venz 1960 Brooks.

rugbymarine……congrats on your 1960 Venie Brooks Robinson. It is familiar to me as I was the owner of that card a number of years ago. I was the one who had it graded and it was in my 1960 Venie set until I found an upgraded card for my set, then sold this one. Enjoy the card…..1960 Venies are fun to collect and are great cards.

Wow, amazing cards! I recently got back from PSA a 29 card group of Venies, including several HOFers, but nothing as nice as those. Haven’t had a chance to scan, but I can post a couple quick phone pics.

I purchased each of those on eBay. The PSA 5 was a Buy It Now; it sat in my cart for a few weeks as I looked it over. Finally pulled the trigger and glad I did. I think I even used eBay bucks on it (damn I miss those). The Gibson and PSA 1.5 Mays were tampabaycard auctions

Wow, that is an amazing 1968!!!

On the 1972 ones, the PSA 1 is a real/authentic card, but the PSA 5 is a modern counterfeit
