Here's another guess the grade of sorts... What do you think? MS or AU?

my official guess is au58+ (there is visible friction)
but i have seen coins like this in 3 holders and also unc details holders. fwiw

Hard to judge luster, from photo, guessing MS.
That coin would sure make a great AU58+.
That was my thinking as well... It was my type set example for ten years. I believe it's AU and was actually hoping for the AU58+ grade. The luster is nice but in my opinion, you cannot miss the slight circulation.

I had a similar experience with my Pan Pac commem half. I collect classic commemoratives in strictly circulated condition. I submitted my Pan Pac that I assumed was AU, but sadly, it came back graded MS63. From the depths of my disappointment, I posted several ebullient posts while doing a coin 'happy dance' here.
By the way, that's a very nice set of coins for your 7070.

I would have guessed MS from the photos, just a bit of weak strike is what I see.

Ironic that I got this 1887 in the mail yesterday. After looking at mine and looking at yours I would venture to say an ms-61. However, I love the toning of yours it's just amazing. A real Beauty.
