While I am not a modern coin collector, I would grade this at 66 mainly due to the splotchy toning that could be hiding small dings or marks to prevent a higher grade. Hope I'm wrong and their are no hidden marks. I do like the machine doubling, so even on the lower reverse.

Was it obtained from a US mint set? I ask because of the speckles on the coin. In my experience, many of these WQs that were stored in the flexible plastic US mint set holders eventually start to exhibit spots that are reminiscent of what I interpret on this coin.

Looks like another 67+ to me unless PCGS did not like the speckled toning.
That is the question I was going to pose which, was it the speckled toning (which is actually raised/some kind of build up) or was it the little and I mean very little scratch underneath IGWT that is completely hidden in the TV?
The surface of this coin looks much better to me than the 70D (67+). So I had to try. I'm leaning towards the scratch and had even suspected it would come back as it did at 66.
The mint set came torn on the inside allowing the coins to hit each other (Kennedy) and like the sellers photos (not these) the luster was easy to spot. The dime toning is identical.

I would have got this one right... the little dings on the reverse bring it down... Cheers, RickO
Holy smokes I almost choked on my coffee.
So, Ricko let me see if I understand this correctly, you're saying that the splotchy tarnish is market acceptable?

Based on the last one, I'll adjust to MS67+.
MS67.

@TomB yes it did and I’m glad you chimed in as I have a question for you once I reveal the grade.
It looks like a 67 but I'm guessing there are some marks on the obverse that could hold it to 66.
Nice coin

Interesting it toned like that in a mint set. I thought it might be album toning.

Thanks again!!!
Hmm...that looks like an aftermarket mint set to me.
Yea, those are always interesting to see.

@Coinscratch....
Market acceptable - yes, RickO acceptable, NO!!
Cheers, RickO
Many of those sets have higher quality coins than the Gov't issued mint sets, which, on average, suck.
