A new purchase I'd like to share.
I'm working on a $5.00 half eagle Indian date set. It's just a run of dates regardless of the mintmarks.
This 1914 was a tougher date to locate that was affordable and nice enough to fit into my set. I'm happy to say the search is over as I have finally found this one. I find the strike and luster to be attractive.
Thanks for looking and comments are always welcome,
Joe

Love a good $5 Indian!
Thank you all for the compliments on this piece. It took me a long time to locate one that I liked. The grade is PCGS 63. I think it’s a pretty coin for the grade so I purchased it.
Thanks again and happy hunting,
Joe

Great example. Nice!
Nice coin, Joe! A couple of old Buffalo collectors like us have migrated to collecting gold.
Your photo skills work well with gold also. Please share as you build the set.

I too wear a 1914 quarter eagle ring. We have a lot in common with the exception that my dad was born in 1919.
Thank you to all for the kind responses.
Happy hunting.
You have a great eye for top notch coins. Nice acquisition!
I knew it would happen.
Thats a nice looking '14. How many are left? 16-S and what else? I'm sure you can find a screaming deal on an 09-O!
Nice coin, congrats on the purchase!
The 16-s is the one I need most then my set will be as complete as can be. Of course I’ll still be looking at the others and possibly add to it. The 09-O is not on the list nor is the 29😳. Unless I hit the super lotto.
Thanks to all
Great images! I love the look of it.
Well you don’t have to explain that in-hand the luster is awesome it’s easy to see 😎
Beautiful Fiver gold.

Nice one Joe.
Fantastic coin!
If you don't mind me asking, what camera do you use? I find that my Canon Rebel XTi has some trouble focusing to the quality I desire with my macro lens, so I'm trying to find a replacement.
Coin Photographer.
I need one for my type set (any date). Every time I replace it, somebody comes along and wants it more. That's a nice one. Thanks for sharing. Such a good hobby.
Thank you.
I use a SLR Nikon D750 with a Sigma macro lens. It take me close to where I want to go but I’m now thinking of an upgrade to a Nikon Z 9. Price is always objective.
It looks pretty cool, but I can't tell, is that real gold, it look's like it but just to make sure.
