I spent $40 on this… how’d I do for this high quality replica?

You paid about $36 too much.

Was that knowingly or unknowingly purchased as a replica?

The Secret Service may find that coin interesting. No way to know for sure unless you ask them

Same quality and supplier, you can see the same die chip on the reverse below the L in Pluribus.
"oh well, you live and you learn…"
Yep, you would have been better off buying a genuine 1922
I think you wasted $40. You can buy a nice, and real, 1922 or 1923 for that.

Please, please…. learn to save your money and buy original legit US coins…
Buying this stuff only encourages the very downfall of our hobby….
Others will be encouraged to buy the fakes and be upset and discouraged thereby ruining the hobby for your generation…
This will ultimately ruin the hobby as neophytes discover they have been absconded…
I beg of you and your generation to not encourage the Chinese fake coin industry…
Yep, or you could get 18 of the exact same cheap replica for the same $40.
Can you get your money back?

I won't say anything negative, buy what you like.
Does it stick to a magnet?
Did you do the basic checks for authentication?
I wouldn't have spent any money on it.
@SummerDays3104 ... You have paid an installment on your numismatic tuition. I do not think there will be any loan forgiveness though....
Cheers, RickO
If you’re going to compare your copy to a genuine example, I’d suggest that you use a genuine 1921, not a different date.

The quality is soo bad. The R is bad as is the date. Even the In God We Trust looks terrible. This is a real one.

Is it even legal to have these fake coins shipped to the USA?
Probably not. It's definitely not legal to sell them within the US.
It's illegal to sell counterfeit coins in the US. A little...er...coercion of the seller is possible.
