New Doily Purchase

This came into the shop and I felt compelled to buy it before it got cracked out. Nothing rare, but cool nonetheless.

No, no premium at all. The dealer charged me $100 more than what he paid. I was there at the time he bought it. He bought this one and four others in older slabs. This was the only doily. The rest were OGHs and all were very nice, but I am not trying to corner the market. I went to the shop the very next day and those other four had already been sold.

Thanks. I am typically not a label collector, either. But, in this case, I knew there would be little downside should I decide not to keep it. Plus, I did not have one for the type set, so I figured it was a win-win.

Pretty coin. I think the Doily label creates a nice contrast which enhances the appearance of the gold in the slab.

Definitely a great pick up!
I have one doily, it’s a Franklin half, a $20 coin and similarly I got it for the coin price.
