R-7 = Estimated specimens 4 - 12.
1970 Assay Commission Medal (JK-AC-114). Looks like rim damage at 4 - 5 o'clock positions?
PCGS pop is 1.

It wasn't me. Someone sure got lucky. Looks about a $500 item. Assuming this is one I was unaware of, I'm aware of at least 11 examples; I think R-6, maybe R-6-, is a better rarity for it.

Collecting medals is quite different from collecting standard US coins. The latter are typically well researched with established pricing and specimens, anyone so inclined to collect them need do noting except have the available cash needed to buy. The former are often overlooked with only scant information which requires a collector to use their own knowledge for numbers and pricing. As this example illustrates, someone has figured all of that out, Aegis3, and sort of upset previous assumptions.
