My username comes from part of my first name, Rocco, and the Aspie (Asp-E) is short for Aspergers autism (which is now called Level One Autism)
The name Aspergers comes from Hans Asperger (Johann Friedrich Karl Asperger) who “discovered” or first described the Autism spectrum condition in his studies of atypical neurology in the early to mid 1900sAspie Rocco is also my PCGS Registry name and ebay username.

Set up an email to buy a pair of shoes online some 20 years ago. Thought the name was so silly that I kept it, and used it.

Mine is simply the name of a road in Asheville, NC and I liked the name. I’ve used this name for close to 20 years.

I was a mail carrier for 34 years in the Midwest. I used to walk 12 miles a day on my route. Retired in 2014 and have since become a school bus driver. I enjoy being on the go and having a connection to the community.

Was new to computers,web and forums. It was a learning experience ,as is our hobby. Needed something so I picked coinlearner,for some reason. Thought about changing but will lose all my "badges" since 2007

Mine comes from a geneological investigation I was conducting for an individual. I discovered two original marriage records for two couples who were married in 1874. The discoveries I made opened the floodgates for adding multiple generational entries to the maternal side of the family tree for the individual. The geneological wall came down, in other words. Maternal side of family trees can be tough to develop because when women get married they more often than not lose their maiden name. These days many women use both married and maiden last names. That's a good thing, in my opinion.
I decided to use mr1874 as my ID here as a result of my success in locating the aforementioned marriage records. I'm just an amateur geneological researcher. There was lots of luck involved with me making the discovery that I did.

-Albert Einstein-Mistakes are natural. But repeated mistakes without reflection are something else. That may be the “stupidity” he was referring to. In research, he admitted uncertainty openly. “If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?” This shows humility. Even a Nobel laureate accepted doubt. That humility makes the quote less cynical and more observational.

My first name is problematic for some people, so I came up with an even more obscure handle. Cara bonn airgid is Irish Gaelic for "(silver) coin friend". I shortened it to carabonnair which sounded loftier.

Wow, some interesting stories of how forum members got their (handles) or forum names. Mine not so much.
My forum handle is my last name. My first name also follows all my posts. I've never liked anonymity on the internet as people tend to hide behind the keyboard. I chose to put it all out there and by posting my name at the end of each post it says I stand behind what I say. It also keeps me from saying things I may later regret. At least, most of the time.

Back in the day when forums were just starting to make their presence on the world wide web, a friend made an account calling it vulcan, so I started the handle vulcanize and between the two of us sharing passwords, confused the heck out of the rest of the members for a very long time getting cheap kicks out of it.

Just took my first name and the first four letters of my last name.
My user ID from nearly 20 years ago was Woodwind because I played sax and clarinet extensively when I lived in Southern California. I no longer play, and that ID has fallen into the abyss after a long break from collecting and these boards, so I just went with the variation of my name.

@Paradisefound Mostly Walking Liberty Halves and Jefferson Nickels, though I'm starting to focus on all denominations from 1934 to 1950. I'm a lower budget guy and that's the earliest era on which I could conceivably put together an entire MS set.

My nickname in high school and college given to me by my basketball teammates was "Ike" (a shortened version of my last name).
While in college some of my teammates and I went to a midnight movie showing of the Clint Eastwood movie "The Eiger Sanction".
One of my teammates thought Ike and Eiger sounded similar, so he took "Sanction" from the movie and started calling me "Iker Sanction". Eventually my teammates followed suit. Thereafter they shortened it to just "Sanction".
That name stuck through the years and a few people still use it today when referring to me.
Fastforward to when I joined the forums in 2004. I made a mistake in setting things up using the handle "Sanction". I had to start over and I ended up adding "II" at the end of "Sanction".
"SanctionII" it has been ever since.
Tedious explanation, but that is my handle story.
