Missing clad layer error

Found this 2001 state quarter in a roll. Missing the clad layer

on the Obverse. Weighs 4.6 grams. Nice copper color and struck well on the obverse, but reverse is not in the best condition. Is this worth grading? Thanks

Probably not worth the grading and shipping costs.

Great find. I do not think it is worth the nearly $100 in grading fees and shipping to and from to get it authenticated. It is authentic and original. It is circulated and also has a nasty rim ding. Save your money and put it towards something else. Put this coin in your collection...or sell it as is if you do not want/need it.

That seems to be a real missing clad layer. We often get discolored quarters that 'appear' to be a missing clad layer. Nice find, good for educational file. Cheers, RickO

How about these, look for them in a change drawer near you.
