Post your 1909 S VDB Lincoln Cents

Since there has been so much talk about the 1909 S VDB cent here lately, let's post some pictures.
This was one of the coins that I always wanted as a young collector, but could not afford.
I bought mine in 1992 raw for $500. from a trusted dealer. I had it certified in 1994.
This is one of the coins that I do not intend to ever sell.
For those of you who have them, let's see your 1909 S VDB Lincoln Cents.

I mean what did you think mine would look like?

That’s an attractive example at it’s grade level.
I got this one from a Heritage sale last year:

I still like it. Plus it's in an old soap bar slab! 👍🏻

Thank God that clip wasn't right about here Sean!!

Not much to see. I bought the slab, not the coin. 😂 🤣 Love these small old ANACS slabs!!

I like yours better than mine!

What does NET PO 1 mean?

Poor One
On a side note: Years ago I sent that one to PCGS for 'cross-at-any-grade' and it was rejected.

I'm still confused. Why does the slab say VG Details and PO 1?

by surface details remaining (i.e. wear) the coin is VG but the damage sustained lowers the market value to Poor-1.
"I Prefer Dangerous Freedom Over Peaceful Slavery"
Thomas Jefferson!
Don't see very many raw coins of this value anymore...
Hmmm, okay thanks!

OUCH!!!

Thanks!
I'm really pleased with the coin, the only pick I have is I'd like it to have a bit sharper details in the area the designer's initials.

My 50th Birthday present, always wanted one, could never find.
Now has a green sticker:
That can be a feature instead of a bug. I was able to cherrypick this heavily circulated example with weak designer's initials off eBay for the price of an '09-S.

I have 2, the one in my Dansco.
And a graded 1
The graded one is part of my Whitman folder set that I started as a 7 year old.

Bought this at a county auction, raw and on the cheap. JA liked it and it now has a green sticker.
Would show you mine, but still at graders. Dealer friend and I fully expect MS64RB. Can't wait.
Some nice looking coins in this thread!
That's going to be a beauty as well - blaircountycoin- if it's coming back with that grade!
A woody version:
Besides looking at the date, mint mark and VDB which could be fake, does the coin have any other specific die markers to confirm it's an 09-S-VDB?

That’s resurrecting an old thread. Ok so here’s my current one. A true Woody.

I got you beat @Creg. Accept I don't know if it's a 09-VDB or a 09-S-VDB!! 😣 🤔 🤬

Where’s the fifth hole on the obverse?
@Creg - Yes, it looks like a hole but it's a stain.

Here's mine... I never thought I'd be looking at Lincoln Cents after selling off most (all) of the collection but I was gifted nearly an entire set from my brother and just had to complete it... again... with this one (now in my Box of 20). PCGS XF45/CAC

Recently graded AU58. Sat in my Dansco album for around 10 years before that. Purchased raw from my LCS around 2014/15.
My '09 s-vdb bought raw from B&M in 1986. Still raw today.
I bought this 1909-S-VDB in the early 1980s. It had ANACS VF-20 papers. NGC graded it EF-40. I think NGC got it right.
This was the last coin I needed to complete the 1909 to 1940 Lincoln Cent album. I have only owned a 1922 Plain as a dealer, which doesn't count.
Complete wheat cent Lincoln set. It was a raw XF45 ish 1909-S VDB.
Mr_Spud
At one point I had 9 certified examples and sold all but the best. I also still have a raw XF-ish piece in my Dansco set.

Amazing rainbow copper coin, virtually spotless. Is she graded?
