If I may ask, did you acquire you example by a recent e-bay auction?

Samples all have the same serial numbers, if that's what you are getting at.

OK... I know we coin collectors are detail people (some even say OCD afflicted)...but I did not even realize doily holders had a white stripe... and some do not... I guess I am not as OCD as I thought I was... :D;) Cheers, RickO

The recent Ebay sale went cheap because the label was "damaged" - looked smudged in the lower left corner.

Oreville estimated a pop of 10 at one time - it will be interesting to see how many get posted here.

I stand corrected, I forgot the smudge, not the example shown In the OP
    Kudos to the high bidder...

This was a recent purchase on eBay. The "Smudge" was just sticker residue that I removed before I took the picture.

I know that another one just changed hands on eBay for pretty strong money.

That is a hard to believe price! I thought $500 was strong money. :D

Only samples come without the white stripe, correct? Haven't seen a regularly issued Doily without a white stripe at the bottom of the label.

I think most samples have white stripes

Trying to get an accurate census on this coin. If anyone owns a "No White Stripe" doily, please post it here.
