Nice little handful at the bank

I asked about half dollar rolls at the bank. They didn’t have any. The teller said she had $3 worth, however.
Out of only those six coins, I expected nothing.
Instead I got two 90%, two 40%, and two clads!
They were: 1961, 1964, 1968-D, 1969-D, 1989-P, and 1996-P.
That 1961 Franklin half is the first Frankie I’ve found in circulation in over 45 years as a collector!

The chances of finding silver half dollars seems to have increased recently. I suspect it involves the heirs of estates quickly dumping all the change they found. Numismatic knowledge among the general public seems to be very low these days so a half dollar is just some coin they have seldom if ever seen and couldn't care less about.

I just learned that my bank is going to reopen the inside tellers, which means I can get coins again (they refused to send rolls through the tubes). I am looking forward to roll searches in the near future.

Wow. Mandates? Where are you? CT lobbies have been open a looooong time. Don't even need a mask.
No mandates, just safety for employee decision from what I remember. The bank does not have a drive-up window, so all drive through business is served via vacuum tube teller and they never permitted anything more than spare change to go through those stations. They may have had a way to get rolls on by appointment (to serve businesses) but I never checked.
Other local banks that I checked had their lobbies open, but they would only get rolls for their account holding customers (citing coinage shortages).
