Funny IKE?

Hi guys,
Found this IKE, along with a few more at the bank today.
Three questions.
1. Is this a Proof?
2. Is this Silver?
3. Why are these SO BIG , Wide ??? lol

Any varieties?

    That's a nice find. It also has the type 1 lettering, which I think looks a lot better than the type 2. If I remember correctly, the type 1's were made in 1975 and the type 2's in 1976, Both are common and neither commands a premium over the other.

    That's a nice find. It also has the type 1 lettering, which I think looks a lot better than the type 2. If I remember correctly, the type 1's were made in 1975 and the type 2's in 1976, Both are common and neither commands a premium over the other.

    This is generally true of the clad Bicentennial Ikes, although the story changes at top grades. Clad Type I Ikes are much harder to find in the top grades than Type 2 Ikes, with Philadelphia being harder to find than Denver. PCGS has certified no 1976-P Type I Ikes in MS67, and they are scarce enough even in MS66 to sell for a substantial premium.

    The 40% silver Bicentennial Ikes (both regular strike and proof versions) are all Type I. The one exception is the unique pattern Judd-2164 (1976 $1 No S Type 2 - Silver Proof) in the @wondercoin collection.

    The silver clad had .53796 oz. silver.... Do not recall total weight. Cheers, RickO

    you asked about varieties - there are 2 major ones on reverse letter thickness
    you have type 1 thick letters

    I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    Pretty darn cool to find an "Impaired Proof" Ike (I think "Impaired Proof" is the correct terminology for a circulated proof coin)

    Today, I took all my silver melt silver cash (I hunted in rolls) to the Central States Show, in my hometown, Chicago.
    Picked up 2 old classics.
    An 1852 3 Cent Silver & a 1831 Bust Half
    "Doubled Letters" on the rim #501 variety.
    Also, another 1993 toned Eagle and a 1985 One Onza toned Libertad Silver!
