I am watching a few coins on their Ebay store, and they have some very nice-looking raw coins that sell for strong prices. Here is a typical picture of theirs. I wanted to know if anyone here had bought from them to see if the coins look as good as the pictures.

I just checked out a thread where a buyer had 3 bad purchases from them. Thanks for the heads up.
Another thing to look at is - does the picture make sense.
I am not a photographer and maybe someone who is can say how this is done.
The photo has unusual colors in the field. 6 & 12 a blue-green. Then on either side of that a violet hue. Then at 3 & 9 a gold-brown. Also the color pattern is not right. A coin won't have the same color top and bottom (blue-green) and then the same color adjacent to that color on both sides top and bottom (violet). This is not a toning pattern. Finally the luster cartwheels are not very bright when compared to the very bright devices. A black and white dmpl can have a bright device and limited cartwheel in the fields but this isn't showing that.

I bought a couple of Morgan's from them not long ago. The coins I received were nice for the grade but looked nothing like their photos. They were pure white. Not black and white like their photos.
Ya know, it's funny - sometimes you can say the photos are "Juiced" then all agree and other times when you say photos are "Juiced" to amplify the toning a certain few jump all over you. Wonder why that is??? And no, I can't find the threads where this happened.........
But if this seller is the one that claims these came from original rolls - I never would buy into the hype

"Feedback" means nothing when looking at such a big seller. Ebay will gladly remove any and all negatives for them.

Since you speak for eBay I have a problem I need resolved. BTW: A very major seller, back in the day, tried to stiff me. He went berserk when I ruined his 'perfect' feedback. The fool almost went Postal! Also, that's not what eBay says or does.
11,011 Positive 0 Neutral 0 Negative. Even in this day of 'Feedback Fear' you would think the 3 bad Deals guy would leave a Neutral, eh?
Also, if they have a generous return policy (which they likely do), that keeps negative/neutral feedback to a minimum or near zero. This appears to be a business model of sellers pedalling high volumes of coins with small problems (i.e. hairlines, scratches, excessive dipping, etc.). IMO there are better sellers out there.
They're using different kinds of lights. Annoying and probably to distort your understanding of the coin.
I won't touch these guys.

It’s possible that they applied a radial filter in Photoshop and maxed out the contrast of the coin, among other edits. The background and coin just look wrong for a picture.

I've seen eBay sellers (long since, booted from eBay) who sold large quantities of counterfeits and problem coins, who had 100% feedback. Yes, you'd think that wouldn't be the case, but it was.
In this instance, rather than look at the seller's feedback score, I'd focus on the images, the number of "valuable" ungraded coins and the claims/stories about them.

I don't understand what you are talking about. I have had no dealings with Canyon City but if I bought something and it was SNAD I believe they have a reasonable Return. If I thought I got stiffed I definitely would leave a Negative feedback to allow future buyers a chance to decide for their own.
"and the claims/stories about them." And that is exactly what we have had about this dealer. It is a sad day when this Forum, and ATS, is used to punish a coin dealer because the buyer didn't have the courage or fortitude to settle the problem on his/her own.
The bar is quite high these days for near and gem prooflike and dmpl coins, so coins may look high end with juiced images but if they are not certified why take the chance?
To back Mark up, feedback is useless. I negged a seller who sold me a counterfeit, eBay deleted the feedback because I "got a refund". WTF ebay.

I negged a seller once becuase he cancelled a transaction becuase he did not like the closing price. Seller then messaged me an anti-semetic tirade. I reported the offensive message and was surprised when ebay Naru'd the seller a week later.
As has already been posted, sometimes negative feedback is removed.
Sorry for not having been clear. When I wrote “... and the claims/stories about them.”, I was speaking of the seller’s claims/stories about their coins.
For the record, my main point isn’t about that seller. It’s that great feedback, alone, is no guarantee that a seller is a good or great one.

I bought something from them once upon a time. They had no problem giving me a refund so I had no problem giving them positive feedback.
