Found this in my first nickel box!

I'm pretty happy about this, 95% of the box was uncirculated so this was amazing to get. I think I like looking through nickel boxes a little more than pennies.

Sure, at first it does appear to be a common buffalo? But at further looking, it may have that stretching appearance (dd)?

Nice piece. Value about 10x face unless something special (other than being a common date Buffalo nickel) is found.

Someday you may even find the holy grail of Jefferson nickels, the circulated condition '50-D. My mind reels at the prospect of finding one of these in PO-1.

“I believe in intuitions and inspirations. I sometimes feel that I am right. I do not know that I am. When two expeditions of scientists, financed by the Royal Academy, went forth to test my theory of relativity, I was convinced that their conclusions would tally with my hypothesis. I was not surprised when the eclipse of May 29, 1919, confirmed my intuitions. I would have been surprised if I had been wrong.”

@NordlandSalmon... Nice find... The Buffs are becoming scarce. I still get one in change occasionally... got one a few months ago. I pay with cash a lot, so get change... To look for W quarters. I got a Buff in the Coinstar last year. Cheers, RickO

    Very nice find.
