Now I'm left wondering exactly how you make "silver-like bronze", since bronze, by definition, is kind of non-silver-coloured. Did they mean "cupronickel"?
And I'm pretty sure "gold-like bronze" is better known as "brass".
And yes, with no actual explanation on the medal as to its origin or commemorative purpose (it doesn't even mention the Philippines anywhere on the medal, or explain which "victory" happened in 1987), I'd suspect any of the silver ones that found their way onto the secondary market would end up on the "generic scrap silver round" pile, and the base-metal ones under just plain "generic scrap".
