I sold my first collection of IHCs that year. They weren't complete but they were AU+. Pre slab and pre sticker days: 1972. Girls distracted me then and for the next 27 years.

Born at Fort Knox in 1968 while my father was in Vietnam.

I remember when airplanenut first came to the forum. Middle school at the time, I think, but very sharp. I remember a bust dime that had the most problems ever mentioned on a slab. Jeremy, do you still have that coin?

Nah, I was in 9th grade... the start of 9th grade, but hey, high school is high school.

And... you bet! This came about in 2003, as you can see by the '03 carved into it

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

I was 11 years old in ‘72 and it was the year that my brother’s future wife’s brother got me hooked on coins.

It was a great year for AM Top 40 Radio, which I was constantly glued to.
Although I hated “Walk on The Wild Side” at the time.
    What did I know.

FWIW, I would guess the average age of this group at at least 60, which means 1961-62, and I would guess the median age to be around 64-65.
