Thanks for the tips, 1951WheatiesPremium. I normally would scan separately, but this was just a quick one, and not a scan I would use, say, for eBay. The cards are where I left them, so I'll try that later.

I should have added that when I wrote the profile of Simmons during spring training of 1989 I contacted his recent Braves teammate Ken Griffey (as we then knew him) for comments, and during our conversation he mentioned that his son was on a mission to make the majors that year. Mission accomplished.

I wrote a scanning guide and have it linked in my signature. Check it out if you have a moment.

    Nice cards by the way!

Thanks! I just downloaded the file, and that's quite an impressive piece of work.

And I did just scan the Simmons cards again in the dark, and can see a slight but definite difference. So I'll start doing that for scans that matter.

Thank you! The card was originally given to me for Christmas 2013 from my sons. That alone makes it special. I got it signed and reslabbed later.

I definitely agree. I am nostalgic in that way too. I still have a few cards my parents got me for Christmas when I was a kid in the 1980s. A 1985 Fleer Update Complete set comes to mind. I wanted it for the Vince Coleman rookie. I still have it in an album from 36+ years ago.

Here are the rest of my autographed cards, all put in a scrapbook 30+ years ago. The Bench, Concepcion, McCovey, Rice, Garber and Fisk cards were all signed in 1978-79, and I got them by sending the cards to the players through their teams; the Robinsons card I got signed at a show; the Perry cards I got by writing to Perry in 1988 (and ordering some of his peanuts); the Bunning card I got in person when he was in Congress (along with a signed baseball); and, those Mariners cards were obtained by writing the players at their stadium in 1986-87. (Yes, I know that Mike Trujillo is not in the Hall of Fame.) The other autograph is Yoko Ono's, obtained when we were shopping in the same store in Moscow 35 years ago.

It is, the postcard is from 1977, I believe the signature might be from a similar era.

I have the nabisco cards with Palmer,Gibson,Snider

Nice! Crazy to think you could get something of this significance from a nabisco mail order! Those were the days!

Being in the grocery business most of my life I had access to many promotions that were offered to me especially Detroit Tiger stuff and a few other small sets from Putin’s,Coca Cola ,Caines Potato Chips, etc.
I forget to add the Frank Robinson to my list of Nabisco cards to go with the Palmer,Gibson and Snider.. This was back in the mid to late 80s.

Let's get this one going again.

    Remember a few guidelines -

    1) It must be a card
    2) Every card must be a baseball HOF'er
    3) It must be yours
    4) One card per post

Let's roll with this thing and keep it going!

One of my favorites from the tough 1982 Topps Blackless set. Only signed Rickey.

I love the creative thinking on this one. No black ink on a blackless card. That green ink looks like it NEEDS to be there.

Thanks. I took a bashing on a Henderson Facebook page. Said I never should have gotten such a rare piece signed. I’m all for collectors doing what they wish with their pc.
