Usually pick up small gold but pickings have been slim until yesterday. Saw this beautiful raw St Gaudens. It'll most likely end up with our hosts shortly.

It's pick-ups like this that keep me searching out raw gold. If it was slabbed I could never have picked it up for the price I got.

I lean to 64... but could be lighting....Would not surprise me at 65. Nice find, especially if at a good price. Cheers, RickO

MS64. If you get it slabbed, let us know what grade you get. B)

Something funky going on in the eagles feathers on the reverse. I seriously doubt 65. Maybe 64.

Fantastic looking coin. Luster looks excellent!
I’m not super familiar with they type, but that strike looks very sharp to me also.

Curious what you're seeing. Maybe a result of some distortion of my lousy cell phone picture. In hand all feathers are clean with split line through each to the feather ends.

Nice coin and great picture. I've never seen it that close up. I really like that design.

At 3:00 in the center of that group of feathers. The lines are not well defined in the photograph.

They're all there probably the weakest part of the strike. Phone picture distorted that a bit.
