Indeed, the real deal can be seen on the Heritage link that MFeld provided. The ebay coin seen here snuck into the "Victor David Brenner & His Lincoln Cent by Joshua McMorrow-Hernandez April 20, 2020" thread posted in the forum last December. The Brenner thread was intended to give readers a historical perspective on Brenner and his Lincoln cent design, not an analysis of counterfeit coins and holders. But twists and turns these threads here do take. After all, people have strong feelings about 1909-S V.D.B. pennies, THE holy grail for Lincoln cent collectors. David Hall's son once told his dad that he would eat worms for a 1909-S V.D.B. And you know what? When I was a kid, I too would have eaten worms if only I could find an SVDB in one of the countless penny rolls I searched.

Jesus said, "If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the
birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will
precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you
come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you
who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in
poverty and it is you who are that poverty."--- Gospel of Thomas (Lamdin translation)

What did all of you see that made you think this coin and holder are fake?

Type font is wrong. Coin itself isn't close to the grade stated.

The reverse label is centered and should be higher, also if you notice there are 4 prongs holding the coin and on a genuine holder there are only 3. ;)

Have this fake documented in my files; I have also reported the seller and sale to my Group.

No on-line cert image but fortunately the auction record and Heritage's images!

Many times these are "fake" sales to prop the coin up for a real sale...

The 4 corners of the fake slab appear to be larger than a genuine PCGS slab.

Correct. And to add....PCGS wasn’t even using prongs yet in that slab generation.

Thanks for the photo, I looked for it back when it sold the first time but didn't find it.
Was there a reverse slab shot too?

Yep. There was. Didn't think to include it because all I wanted to do was compare the two slabs.

The coin and the holder is FAKE.
Look at the four fingers that are holding the coin, this style of PCGS only has three fingers. When I first saw this one I saw the counterfeit coin but I wasn't certain about the holder until it was pointed out to me, then it JUMPED out :D Then the quality of the printed TAG.

The actual case style intent looks like mine, except the printed tag looks more of a previous style label, but the four fingers or prongs is wrong.
Here is the slab mine came in, notice the transitioning or fade from blue to white tag and the extreme detail in the print and bar code, but only three holding prongs.

Crazy just crazy what people do for money. But as well who ever bought it is just as crazy they will not do the research to see what he or she is spending there money on.

I just saw another difference in the cases, the one in the OP doesn't look to have the four little stacking corner legs?

The dot after the D in VDB is not centered and the N in UNITED is the wrong one. It should be the shallow N instead of the deep, sharp N.
