What details grade would you give this Peace dollar? What grade do you believe PCGS gave it?

    I don't know but if they did anything other than...

    1. Grade it as though it had no damage
      and
    2. Note the damage

    Then the grade assigned is basically useless.

    I don't disagree with VF details, but why on earth would someone pay grading fees for this incredibly common, generic coin?

    Maybe to learn how PCGS prioritizes multiple categories of damage on a single coin? :) Probably a stretch, but all I can think of...

    Cull. Once you add grading costs they paid much more than what can sell for.

    Even if it wasn't holed, bent and cleaned, it would be F12 at best.
