My experience was with ANACS and had actually bought it off eBay just because of the error that even the seller was not aware of. He had apparently sent in a bunch of coins for grading and this was one of them and he even graciously offered to exchange it for another coin.

That’s a very nice 1822 CBH in that thread. I wonder if @lkeigwin still has that one.

I have one that I think will be hard to top. This coin was sent in for a reholder many years ago. However the coin was not reholdered but it was given a new cert number. Now the kicker, the new cert number identifies this coin as VF64 . And to top that off the cert number on this slab was assigned to a 1928-S SLQ.

This background was told to me by NGC after I bought it and tried to add it to a registry set. Three mechanical errors on one coin/slab

Yes, I still have the coin. But it is now in an MS62 holder. I haven't sent it to CAC to see if it would resticker as a 62.

You can see it is still in CAC's database as a stickered 1825 if you do a look-up.

I have a 2008 ase with rev of 07 wrongly attributed. I think I sent in 100 for FS and they missed one.
