Yet another FUN show report!

Weather was great and arrived on Wednesday afternoon. Checked in to room and headed over to Heritage lot viewing. Room was pretty empty at 5 pm, viewed a couple dozen lots. Didn’t see anything that I couldn’t live without. Got something to eat and retired for the evening.
Beautiful morning on Thursday and a nice walk to the North South hall. My hometown didn’t get above freezing this day. Felt a little guilty leaving the wife at home even though it was her decision. Ribbon cutting with Abe and we are off.
Stopped by several tables to look at coins I had researched before the show. No go on any. No substitute for in hand viewing. Offered my set of Canadian toners to a Dealer, and they paid what I asked. I was surprised to say the least, but it was an omen of things to come. Did well on the Canadians. Looked over the bourse floor and ran across a west coast Dealer that wanted to look at my for sale box. A deal was made for some more toners and I’m off again. Found a nice 03 Proof nickel in 66cam in an earlier holder with cac. Made a deal with Scarsdale and I had my first purchase. Lunch consisted of a bbq brisket sandwich at $14 plus a drink. Had never seen someone put potatoe sticks ON the sandwich before.
Saw this in a Dealers case. Wrong on so many levels!
Fell in love with a proof cam buffalo at a well known Dealers table but ultimately could not pull the trigger for several reasons. Having done well selling toners, made the decision to shop my best stuff around. Received strong offers on most of it from two Dealers and sold them. 84-S Olympic, monster SBA, 2012 Sac with the toned Chief all went to a new home. Sold most of my box of twenty modern toners for strong money.
Met with Yorkshireman and made dinner plans. Saw Charmy, Andy, Steve at Stateline and many others.
Headed over and drooled over Stewarts display of Lincolns. My favorites were the 1909 VDB proof and of course the 1919 in ms69.
Stewart wasn’t there but I was able to thank him for sharing on Friday.
Had dinner with Yorkshireman at Maggianos. Sorry, no pics of the lasagna or wine. Retired for the evening.
Armed with a pocket full of benjamins, began shopping in earnest on Friday. Bought a couple pieces from Fortin’s table. Found a 2 1/2 in 64 cac that looked nice for the grade. Both Yorkie and I felt the floor was devoid of much CAC gold.
Found a lot of CAC gold that I wouldn’t care to own. Leftover CAC if you will. Last purchase was a Saint in 65+ from Double Eagle. Nice color and luster. Need to clean up the slabs and image but don’t have the time right now.
Visited briefly with winesteven, bigdowgie, and met floridfacelifter while buying my $5 Indian.
Left early on Saturday morning after taking a rapid covid test. (negative) I did wear my mask throughout the show. I estimate 50% did so. Uneventful 8 hour drive home. Great time!

Great report and photos!
Sounds like you had a very successful show selling, and acquiring NEWPS.
Sorry I missed the show and you Mel - maybe next year.

Great report and it was a pleasure meeting you- it was a really good show!
Thanks for the report and you made some cool new purchases!
What made you part with the toned moderns, especially that 2012 Sacagawea? Are you thinking this is a good time to take advantage of the market and/or just changing focus on more classic items?
Great report, thanks for posting it. Sounded like an enjoyable and productive show.
Great report, thank you for posting it!

Thanks for the report, and glad you did well selling some coins. Nice pickups too!
You’ve hit on both reasons. A little heavy on moderns/toners and taking advantage of good offers.
Good Show!
Thanks for the report! Sounds like it was a good show.

Great report and photos. What does it cost for a dealer to have a table at a show like this?
Sorry I missed seeing you! Maybe next time out.
It’s good you took the opportunity to sell. The dealers were hungry for fresh material and paid strongly from my experience there.

Great show report! Looks like it was very productive!
Here's the TrueView for the medal:
Geez has to be a record for highest number of designer initials on a coin? I count four different sets of initials?
I feel a bit responsible for that though most likely I shouldn't be.
Earlier I mentioned that more people should be recognized on coins since I like tracking engravers and designers. At the time, I believe engravers had their initials on coins but designers didn't, and I thought designers were at least as important as engravers. One way to reduce the initials would be to have the engraver and designer be the same as it is with some pieces.
Of course, I also have a comics background, where everyone is recognized, and just think about all the credits at the end of a movie!
Can’t believe PCGS straight graded that POS. I like the medal and own one.
Appreciate the pictures and dialog. Something that stood out to this novice is how chairs are apparently not needed....unless your a seller of course. *Note to self....wear comfortable shoes. From the numerous threads I've read about shows, food and drink seem to be as important as the coins themselves.

Nice report.
What's wrong with the medal? Artificial toning?
Great report - thank you for sharing with the team.
Wouldn't mind owning that MS69 1919 Lincoln. Wow!

Thanks for the photos and report. "Leftover CAC" was an interesting comment but paints a picture.

Great report, thanks.
I really wish I could get there on Thursday instead off Friday morning. Flights don't work out to be there then.
Feel like I'm missing out.
