Show Your 1909 V.D.B. DDO FS-1101 UPDATE: New Pictures 1.30.22

This is one of my 1909 V.D.B. DDO FS-1101's. This one was a cherry pick at a show I attended last year. This neat variety is still out there in the raw. So, get out there and look at some 1909 V.D.B.'s with your 10x loupe at next show you attend. You might get a nice surprise, a DDO 1909 V.D.B. offered for regular 1909 V.D.B. money. The one seen here was $15 to me. It's the "big one" in these.
Doubling is most evident on the 1909 date in the '1', the first '9', and the '0'. Doubling is also evident in 'LIBERTY' on the 'R', the 'T', and the 'Y'. These pictures of my raw FS-1101 were taken by me with my Coolpix 2100 camera.
Update: 1.30.22 pictures taken with my new toy, an Elikliv® Digital Microscope

The oblong thing below LIBERTY and pointing to Lincoln's shoulder is a very light lamination.

This is a very common variety. As you have shown, very pickable still. It is also very confusing to people, because this is one of those genuine doubled dies that kind of mimics machine doubling in a lot of ways.
Dead Cat Waltz Exonumia
"Coin collecting for outcasts..."
Thats a nice pick. And yes, DDO 1 is a tad harder to come across. I cherry picked mine in a an unattributed PCGS holder graded MS 65 RED.
Beautiful.

Very nice pick.
Hoard the keys.
There is information on how to identify a true doubled die piece from a machine doubled piece. I have been unable to locate the information I have about this or I would publish it in this thread. My ANACS AU50 1909 V.D.B. DDO FS-1101 cost to me was $130. The individual who sold it to me on ebay stated that it was one of his favorite pieces. My raw piece shown here is destined to be encapsulated by PCGS and will have Trueview images made of it. Value is ~$150 in my estimation.
1.30.22 On second thought, after receiving my submission packet, I think I'll just leave my 1101 in it's CW Premier holder. I'm not confused about what it is. $18 for variety attribution is more than I paid for the piece in the first place.

I look for them occasionally, whenever I remember! I did have a raw that graded 64 at PCGS years ago. Sold off. Fun to search for and find.

I like the 1909 V.D.B. DDO for several reasons but one big reason I like this neat variety is that finding them for sure is lots of fun. Maybe I can find another at next show I attend. My trusty Bausch and Lomb Hastings Triplet 10x. I don't leave home without it before going to coin show.

1909 V.D.B. mintage almost 28 million. Seems that there might be some differences in the V.D.B. on these as the reverse dies were made and used to produce this issue.
I am thinking I will be buying 1909 plain V.D.B.'s as I find them, mainly for detailed analysis of the V.D.B. The differences from one coin to another, if there, might be very minor but a finding that there are differences could be very useful to my work on the V.D.B. as seen on the holy grail of Lincoln cents, the 1909-S V.D.B.
1909 V.D.B.'s with little wear can be purchased for under $20 apiece. Subject 30 examples or so of plain V.D.B.'s to detailed analysis looking for differences in their V.D.B.'s? I'm gonna do it. Might even find another FS-1101 while I'm at it.

OK... Just pulled my slabbed '09 VDB.... NOT a DDO... I was reasonably certain it was not, since it was once owned by @ThePennyLady ... Our own Charmy.... and NO WAY would she miss that....
But, I did check, just to be sure
Cheers, RickO
The dealer who sold me (for ordinary 1909 V.D.B. money) the FS-1101 seen in the OP, had one for sale in his case for about $130, as I recall.
