Joining the chorus of FUN posts to show off my new purchase. Drove in yesterday (Friday) and arrived around lunchtime. Took me about 15 extra minutes just to find the right location in the sprawling convention center complex. I walked into a very busy and energetic bourse, with many collectors and dealers actively engaged in negotiations.
I beelined to Rinkor to check out a CAC Trade Dollar that I’d been eyeing online for a few weeks, but decided to pass after seeing the surfaces in person which were not to my liking. I turned around and saw David Kahn’s booth, a dealer I’ve bought a number of type coins from. We spoke briefly and he didn’t have anything I was looking for, and just as I turned to leave this gleaming beauty of a gold coin caught my eye.
The Indian $10 has long been my absolute favorite US coin, but I’ve never owned one. It’s always been one of the “big boy” coins that I knew I’d acquire “someday”. I had no intentions of this day being that someday, but as soon as I picked it up I knew that I was leaving with it. I love a nice 58 in any series, and appreciate it even more on a coin like this — there’s some added character that goes with knowing it was used for its intended purpose.
Here are my amateur iPhone photos of the piece. If you couldn’t already tell, I am THRILLED with this new pickup. Easily the best start to a coin show ever. I stuck around for a couple hours but this is the only one that came home with me. If you picked up some gold at FUN, feel free to share it in this thread.

At FUN 2019 I was looking for just that grade/date in AU. The ICG AU piece I came home with looked great but eventually turned in the holder to show where it was 'conserved'.
