nice! Now, even though that design "w" has been found, shouldn't that "W" quarter still be a desirable quarter to keep and maybe have graded? There still is the low mintage factor, right?

Congrats @Eagleguy! As @Onastone mentioned four more to go.

@joeykoins All depends if your into collecting them. Check Bay listings of raw and slabbed Ws (Lowell and American Memorial) and they are all over the place.

    I’m hunting them but that’s because I’m trying to keep my self-imposed W set up-to-date. ;):D

    Edit yo fix typo.

My eyes are shot so I can't make out mint marks without my glasses. I handed my change to my son to see if he needed any of the quarters for his Whitman folders and he saw it. Had to explain why there were special mint marks this year. He was sad to hear it wasn't the one with the remaining bounty but he is determined to keep looking. So at least the purpose of the hunt is having the desired effect.

I have to add that it has been many years since I diligently checked my pocket change and I'm feeling a little of the old excitement.

    There are thousands of people that do not live in areas where these coins are being found. I am one of the lucky ones who have been able to go through 4 to 8 boxes a day and find my share of them;

I haven't been paying attention to where the others are being found but for what it's worth, this one was found in Long Island, NY

Thanks @Eagleguy, answered the question before I asked. Many reports of ‘finds’ have been along the east coast, but there are many more popping up.

    LOL!

Actually it’s a bobbin battery to power the loom. But I guess it could be retrofitted to spin the Lotto ball, too. :D

Juat found my second ever "W" quarter in the wild! I'm not roll-searching or actively collecting a set, but I'll keep them whenever I find them. This one, a beautiful AU "Tallgrass Prairie" comes courtesy of my wife's MahJong winnings today. So not only do I get her out of the house & out of my hair for several hours every Monday (just kidding, hon! :o;) ), but I get an added bonus of an unexpected "W" quarter to boot! Life is good.............. :)

Me neither and I probably went through 100 different quarters last week. Yes, I know that’s hardly anything to most of the roll hunters but I am not a roll hunter. I just check change. I, however, had a friend find one in the “wild” that they gave to me so I have one that way but never one I found myself. Will keep looking though.

What are the "W" quarters going for nowadays?

I haven't followed the going on and haven't found any.

I found thousands of them but sold them all when I found them and have none left and have not even been following them to see what they are going for now. I remember selling them for $100 + when they first came out.

Check the bay. Raw examples are decently priced as well as graded. The Raw 2020 W Tallgrass Prairie- about $40? My PCGS graded ms 67 went for $750 at my last show visit.

I've found 15 from circulation or bank circulated rolls. They are harder find every day. At the beginning of 2019 the chance of finding 1 was 1 per every 5 rolls. Now I go through 20-25 rolls and maybe find just 1. I love looking through coin rolls and when i find a gem, just want to hunt some more.

Do you also use a "billfold" made of leather, which creaks and has moths flying out of it?

I found 2 last month, but have to agree, the odds of finding them now is getting tougher. I still believe they haven't all been released into the wild yet, banks around here are still crying coin shortage and can't get their full coin orders from Brinks.
