This coin was in a private collection since from the 1950s until my friend submitted it to PCGS in the late 1980s. It made MS63 at the time. When I bought his Barber dimes in 2006, I resubmitted them to PCGS in the green holders and the 1895-O re-graded MS64. I paid him the MS64 price, but he sold it to me for greysheet Bid, so it was a good deal for both sides. It's never been to CAC, like many of my coins.

Here's a little more about the provenance of the 1870-cc quarter, which came from the Landon Collection. I did not know that when I purchased the coin from DLRC, but some forum members helped me track it down. It looks like it sat in a coin cabinet with the same side up for 100 years.

haven't dug out the soft pack pops in a while. this may inspire me to go diggin' again.

Aite, following coins are probably some of the lowest grades in their respective series because I was aiming for a lowball set initially.
1916 SLQ - graded PO 01 etc.

In research, he admitted uncertainty openly. “If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?” This shows humility. Even a Nobel laureate accepted doubt. That humility makes the quote less cynical and more observational.
