Very interesting scrap!

Anyone know what this was struck on?

This coin has the great CTF @ErrorsOnCoins provenance :)

Looks like a piece of the remains of a clad sheet.

It certainly looks like clad but the surface looks very uneven to simply be part of sheet. It looks like something interesting happened to it.

Well, it was struck 4 times after or during being balled up.

    Obv
I don't know about the Mint process itself, but rolling out a metal sheet can leave such ragged tailings behind.

It would be interesting to understand more of how this formed.

The depression on Washington's jaw and neck are very interesting.

It would also be interesting to see some mint scrap tailings. There are some PCGS certified mint webbing and it would be interesting to see some rougher tailings.

Interesting that the reverse trueview is facing the wrong direction. I would think they would correct that if someone pointed it out to them.
