    First I thought it took a shotgun blast but the dents are not all from the same angle. So, i am now guessing that it was used as target practice (as suggested above, tossed in the air and shot at with a BB gun.)

    I would still go with the birdshot theory.... I have seen a Peace dollar shot with birdshot, and it looked very similar. Cheers, RickO

    You shouldn't shoot Peace dollars. They are generally peaceful.
