Playing dealer this weekend at the Tukwila show - had a good time!

Set up for the 1st time at a show, got a good location and enough extra space on the table that Bochiman joined me.
1/3 of the case was educational, teaching people about rare holders and hoping that down the road someone will offer me a piece or 2.
It was interesting being on the other side of the table - most people were a delight, others couldn't leave soon enough! 
Besides Bochiman, Seattle Slammer, AirplaneNut, Nyosoto, WTCG, Charmy all stopped by - if I forgot anyone, please remind me!
Traffic was lighter than expected - not sure if it was well advertised or not or if Covid kept people away?? Or, maybe, the new collectors don't go to shows??
Over all a good time and an education.
PS - golfing before the show explains the hat-hair ....

Lakesammman is one humble dude — rare plastic AND killer coins — Gold beaned black-NGC Norfolk? Check. Gold beaned neon-rim-toned rattler-PCGS New Rochelle? Check. If it has to have exceptional eye appeal and rare slab, too …. he da man!
…..casually pulls out even more drop dead gorgeous coins, not even on display, like this complete jaw dropper …. this particular Trade is so fantastic it makes me giddy…. like I-want-to-praise-the-Coin-Gods-giddy for its existence !
And he’s a patient man, too….putting up with Bochiman for all that time. 😈
It was fun finally attending another PNNA show — if only for a couple of hours — I sold a 1/2 dozen nice widgets for good $$ — it seemed many dealers were eager to buy (not surprising). Ahhhh the old community center gymnasium … it was good to see ya again. 😆
Forgot to mention the number of people who have NO CLUE how to wear a mask! I wanted to ask them to move on but it seemed more the norm than the exception. The Tukwila police who were providing security didn't even bother wearing them.

I stopped by your table and saw that gorgeous New Rochelle ( nfs) in your case .
We spoke briefly about your interest in old slabs and then I moved on .

I did the dealer thing today at the Atlanta show.
Should have taken a photo.
We should be aware of when we were vaccinated. My 84 year old dad caught it 2 weeks ago. Fully vaccinated in Feb., he was about 8 months in. Didn’t have to be hospitalized, but did have to take a round of antibiotics and an infusion of antibodies. He’s doing fine, but we as a nation aren’t through this pandemic yet.

With all the shows you, me, BigMoose, boiler78 and njcoincrank have done together I would have suspected you were set-up behind a table long ago! That was a surprise. What isn't a surprise is the amount of coin candy you share and I suspect the NFS portion of your case caused quite a few cardiac episodes.

Over all, I learned that what interests me is better displayed at a national rather than local show.
It was encouraging to meet a number of people who mentioned they were new collectors.

However, some of the coins DID raise more than eyebrows...he has, as you know, some stunning coins!
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Lakes....was great to sit with you this weekend! Can't think of a better person to sit behind a both with and chill.
You certainly made some good friends as they came to the table...people just went to you and your case like moths to a flame.
Glad I could "bodyguard" for you, after the show each day. Didn't want something to happen to you.
@SeattleSlammer - Buddy! Can't wait for you to see my new 1882 proof trade dollar I picked up at the show for half price....the guy wanted twice that but I told him it was an old holder and not current, so it wasn't worth near as much.... LOL
I will say, it was interesting being behind the bench for the first time Hadn't planned to do any selling, was just going to go and enjoy the company, but got convinced to bring in a few things. Felt like I got "cherrypicked" in a way (not complaining), in that my best pieces (imho) got sold really quickly. 1916-D toned merc in PCGS 06 w/ green cac, 1881 MS66 NGC with luster and subtle toning (I think it was CAC as well), 1853 w/ arrows half dollar in EF40 anacs small holder, and a few others. I was ok with that though.
Gave a LEO a NGC MS66rd lincoln because of a little interest and gave another one in same grade to a YN who was toughing it out with his dad as he did was going aisle to aisle (and the dad ended up buying a couple coins from me (a franklin in ms63 and a buff nickel 1938 d/d in NGC 66).
Kind of fun to do actually.
Lakes' case always drew the people to it and he was ever the gentleman, teaching folks about the different plastics and generations.
I referred to his case as "Tiffany's" and my side as "Walmart"

Wow, very nice write up, picture and display case. I'd have thought you would have needed to buy a ticket and wait in line to see some of those jewels. I hope the display cover was drool-proof. :}

I seem to recall selling you my NGC black Norfolk and NGC black Cincinnati 7-8 years ago. Good to see one of them again.

The Lime Green box was a prototype never put in productions - was told by the "insider" that got it for me, that only 4 or 5 were made!
It was in great condition. You should send it to CAC for a prototype bright green sticker

I had a show in SLC that was well attended, but had many dealer friends that went up to Tukwila. I will have to ask them how they did. They did Long Beach and Denver over the same weekend due to requirements of patrons, and it sounds like both were well attended, though one had more dealers percentage-wise.
Yeah . . .yeah . . . holders . . . .BGC Black . . . . Gold CAC . . . .blah, blah, blah.
