1908 Saint Gaudens with motto Thread

One of my relatively recent purchases was a 1908 Saint with the motto. After getting it I’ve been pretty amazed at how scarce they appear to be. It’s genuinely difficult to find more than one or two available anywhere on the internet, unless I’m looking in the wrong places…

I’d like to see others, who all has one?

I am always amazed at the difference in quality between CAC saints and no-Cac. It’s like they are on a different grading system.

You the color on the coin, esp the rev is so choice

Nice looking coin. It appears much better than what I am used to seeing in 64 holders. I am very conservative when it comes to grading gold but I like that coin and think it is correctly graded.

I don't have one or any regular Saint for that matter. I only have the high relief as I have not been able to find one I like that doesn't have so many marks on it. Yours is a beauty and I would be proud to own it.

Great Coin! I love the natural amber color. I've been in the market for nice saints and lately the CAC coins are through the roof. As others have said, its Very hard to be the winning bidder on CAC gold right now if you're not willing to pay prices at the upper end of the spectrum.

I agree with the OP. Nice looking Saint; like the color as crypto commented. It took quite some time to find this MS63 (my Saint date run set are all in 63 so that contributed to the length search). There are 29:1 1908 No Mottos to 1908 Mottos, yet just a few hundred dollars difference in price for this grade. Pic is dark, looks a little better in hand, coin shows some stacking wear.

It’s a beautiful MS-64 and the MS-63 is also sweet. It was so hard to find a choice example in my price range at that time. After asking my LCS to find me a MS-63 Motto and No motto and waiting a couple of months he told me he could get a 62 motto and a 63 no motto. I’ve always been a little unhappy with my 62 but I was also paying college Tuition and money was a bit tight.
