No general internet problems here. Don't use Fake Book.

Facebook and other related websites are down. Seems like a major problem, since it's been two hours already.

This forum is the extent of my social media experience. Tried Facebook for a New York minute. It’s not for me.
Maybe Zuckerberg just decided the whole thing was too much trouble...
Facebook suffered a major outage across several countries on Monday.
Users reported having issues accessing Facebook apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Facebook itself on the website Downdetector, which tracks outages and issues across various websites and services.
The issues began around 11:45am ET on Monday, according to user reports on Downdetector. They appeared to affect users in many countries around the world.
In a tweet addressing the outage, Facebook said, "We're aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We're working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience."

No great loss in my book! (I’d better be careful in sharing my opinions on this ;-) )
I know a lot of people are going to be twitching in their withdrawals though- many good friends too.
This place is my most active venue for social media.

Yes... and because this is my online presence, I'm probably mostly limited to dealing with mostly old, mostly white, mostly guys? Sort of like the NRA?
I bet these threads see a much higher visit/post count today.
Might be a good time to start a new CAC thread.
OMG! OMG!
I'm in the CST zone - unable to access FB for over 3 hours now. Maybe they got hacked by a black hole - can only hope.

Well now, looks like FB censored everybody in one fell swoop!

Kinda sounds like the USM messages we all got the past few months. Is FB a human?

i thought it may have just been on my end for the vpn, router, modem, wifi or the isp.
thanks to everyone else for confirmation.
I tried posting this story to FB earlier today and think I broke the site, so I'll try it here instead. Which I would not do if it wasn't a perfect story to share with other collectors.

I don't see to well, Did you say "failing?"
I just read YouTube twitter and facebook are merging into YouTwitFace.
Nope - Internet works fine for me. Don't use those other websites that were mentioned.

They may have been trying to install an even worse form of the google search engine. It not only fails to find what you want but it shuts down the internet, too.
I have AT&T so it's almost always a problem. Today wasn't too bad though.
Seems to be back now.

unfortunately for me there appears to be an intellectual prerequisite. they won't let me view the site...
Did not bother me... Was driving in a torrential downpour (had to pick up family at the airport)... I know my grand daughter mentioned that she could not access FB while we were coming home... I was too busy trying to keep us alive on the highway to care. Made it safely, so now for a great visit....
Cheers, RickO
...did I miss something? ;-)
