it is the ULTRA rare or semi-unique if you please, 1881 O with the obverse of a 21!
if i had to guess, they uploaded small images for nefarious purposes since other listings have larger images.
as usual, counterfeits are the last thing on my mind and i stumble on this puppy.

Whew.
Laughable!
take note of the style of flip, staple pattern and staple type. there are times i can tell the coin is bad to 99% JUST from those 3 things.
my first real year in numismatics, i spent 20-30 on china fakes and they came in flips that felt really slick, waxy, very thin and i've seen countless fakes in those types with that pattern of staples. makes me wonder if it is a machine that does the stapling as they are virtually always in the same position.
I staple in that pattern for large coins.

i KNEW it!
the chinese-usa counterfeit connect finally outs himself.
so brazen to just come right out and say it like that man!
Lol.
Hard to staple the bigger coins at the compass points. Not enough cardboard.

Semi-unique? Does that mean there are two of them?
Maybe.

No such thing. It's either unique or it ain't. Cant be semi-one of a kind.
Every day I see here, the reasons I stay away from ebay. I remember the old days (late nineties, early 2K's) when ebay was a treasure trove and hoaxsters were rare. Oh well.... Life goes on and there are other sources. Cheers, RickO
What next?

Ebay used to be a cherypicker's paradise. Alas, no longer.
