Gold Pre33 non-specialty sets have seen an uptick in popularity.
2 1/2 Indian finally reached 200 (basic circulation strike set)
Date set Saints are in 2nd w/ 138
3rd is $5 business strike Indians w/ 60
4th is $10 Indian basic w/ 57
I've been watching the numbers go up recently with interest.
I've also been watching my set get knocked down with some interest also
(8th to 11th)
It looks like 2 1/2 Indians are HOT

Yes, $2.50 Indians are hot and there are a lot of 64+CAC to 65+CAC showing up at auctions and dealer websites. All with very strong pricing. I am having a hard time finishing my set.

By comparison, modern AGEs are the following...
(1986-date)
$5 circ.----- 138
$10 circ.---- 51
$25 circ.---- 36
$50 circ.---- 69
I thought moderns would be more popular than Pre-33 by far.

Still not a lot people doing gold dollars. Hope they stay away until I buy more…

Don't forget us guys(and gals) that don't get concerned with registry. There is a definite uptick in interest in pre-1933 in general. I kind of liked it better when I could steal them for a minimal premium. No longer the case!
Id love to see your set and anyone elses.

I want to buy pre-33 gold myself. I’m just waiting out the pandemic hoping prices will come down once the pandemic subsides and people get tired of investing in gold and tired of coins once normal life resumes. I just hope the higher prices don’t stay that way permanently.
I have noticed a significant increase in posts here showing$2.50 gold...Been going on for about five or six months now. As the cost rises, interest likely will diminish. I prefer big gold coins... well, except for my $5 1909D Indian...
Cheers, RickO
My 14D is your old coin. None of the others are photographed. I used to try but the critics came out in force and said more about the photos then the coins.

It's understandable why the Indian quarter eagle series is so popular. It's the only classic US gold coin series that can be completed by a middle class collector.

How about using the term middle “income” collector instead of middle “class” collector? If we then talk about people that can comfortably afford only three figure coins, I believe we would say lower “income” collectors and not say lower “class” collectors.

Whoa-now...
Some of are pretty proud of our unwashed Appalachian heritage.
So far as "middle class", I just googled it and it's up to $145,000/yr

Is "middle class" now a politically incorrect description as well?

Not when you’re talking about middle class. But my guess is that @PerryHall likely meant and was referring to middle income people, and not middle class people, since I believe he was making a financial comment. They mean two different things.
