Sometimes it's the little finds that are so cool...

I bought a roll of liberty nickels from ebay... most rolls were about $40.
This one was 'buy it now' for $28.69, free shipping, for 'mixed dates, average circulated'.
The roll had all 40 nickels.
It had 17 different dates!
It had mostly solid G4 coins, some F/AG, but 5 or 6 VG!
But best of all,
It had an1889, which I didn't have!
Amazing to buy a roll of coins from ebay, and not have it completely picked clean...
Thanks for listening, nice to be able to share my minor delight...

Why do you feel the need to make a new thread and post every piece of junk-box dreck you find?
Seriously, your recent reappearance on this board appears to be an exercise to try to get attention to your worthless crap. I don't know why, nor do I care.
You should go back to posting on reddit or instagram or club penguin and leave this forum for us who take this hobby seriously.
Whoa, that is pretty harsh.
Not everybody can afford expensive coins.
I can appreciate low-price coins along with high-end ones.
And people think I'm a curmudgeon. Lol
All comments reflect the opinion of the author, even when irrefutably accurate.
WOW! - Makes a person want to stick around Eh? Ya ever consider the OP is just starting out with liberty nickels and was thrilled with this find and wanted to share his experience without getting berated?

I don't think I've ever found a coin that old while roll searching. Very cool.

It was intended to be harsh.
This board is an excellent resource where true expertise has been shared by experts and those that seek their knowledge, has been for years.
We see, from time to time, various clownshoes posting parking lot errors, but they quickly go away. This dude revived a 20yo account just to pollute the board with stuff a child might find interesting.
Don't know why, but his posts add nothing and should not be tolerated.
There's a way that you can block or ignore another forum member's posts so that you don't have to see them.

You sir are the one that shouldn't be tolerated. If you don't like the guy then put him on ignore but don't berate him. At least he is posting about coins!

Kinda wondering why do you follow his posts and even worse - WHY do you care? Change the channel!

The 1889 looks like it has good honest wear for the grade. No obvious damage or distracting marks. With 17 dates in the roll, you probably got lucky, and got part of a set that was broken up. Congratulations on filling that hole in your set!
Well we still do -
- Just kidding.........LOL!

Neat find! Now can you pull one that old from a roll you get at the bank?

Thanks.. I notice that at least one response to this thread suggests I am wasting the time of everyone on this forum. I hope that is not a widely held View. I know I have a lot to learn, including etiquette for these boards. I do get a sense that starting new threads that are not of general interest should generally be avoided. But I also noticed that the threads I create do start some good conversations. I will tone down on my new topics, and on my posts with little content...

Poppycock ramblings of an ass. There’s a couple like you who think this is their site. You have zero right to tell anyone who can post. You can 1.Shut up or 2.(which I suggest) find the ignore button. 🤓🙀by the way my cat thinks you’re a dogs behind

I like your posts.
Keep on posting 🤓

Nice pick up. I'd be happy with that as well
You are more than welcome here. You were one of the first members on this site. Just ignore those that give you a hard time. I think it's great you are back in the hobby and posting.
Apparently he chose #1. Good!🤓

WOW that was extremely harsh of @KindaNewish . I dont know who you think you are that you can tell @moursund or anybody else what they can post or what to collect. Everyone has different coins in different grades that they collect. If roll searching Liberty nickels is what he likes then he can and should do it. Not everybody has the means to buy multiple $50K coins for their collections including myself. YOU are a very mean person and I think you should be the one that inot posting on this forum. I would not care if you are the world most knowledgeable expert on every coin. You are rude and have no right to berate moursund.

All I can say is I’d love to find a nice roll of problem free circulated lib nickels! My wife loves them. She has about a dozen now. It’s her overall favorite design.
