DscoinDscoin Posts: 353 ✭✭✭✭

So I wrote a books worth of info on the ANA and clicked post, it was there, went to edit it, and it was gone, so instead of doing it again and spending another hour typing here is some pictures

So the J & M Coin Jewelry doesn't know what the proper name for his business is? It's sure not Jewellery.

They are Canadian so they spell many things differently 'eh.

If you guys have any questions I will answer them. ASE were for sale at $32.50-$40, none were moving. 40% had masks on. Dealers were willing to negotiate more today than yesterday and I am happy with how it has gone so far.

I would agree. I was surprised how few had masks on. Not very crowded so I guess it was ok. The crowd was a mix of all ages.

Most transactions I saw were dealer to dealer. One man bought a roll of MS raw Peace dollars for $800. There was some action at the ASE and Silver Maple dealers. I saw more coins being sold to dealers then bought from dealers.

Seeing the 1933 DE and the Tyrant Collection made the trip worthwhile. It was incredible to see a $10 1899-S PCGS MS68+ CAC coin. The $5 1893 PCGS MS68 CAC was not bad either. For earlier date coins the 1838 $2.5 MS66+ CAC and 1831 $2.5 MS67 were jaw dropping as well.

The $32.50 for in person sales is doing ok. however, I don't like today's premiums. outrageous. you used to be able to get the for $2.50 over as a special deal.

The Eliasberg 39/8 $10 proof was IIRC a PCGS PR65. After Charlie Browne paid about $500K for it for National Gold Exchange, It was dipped (to Charlie's chagrin) and graded 67.

Actually, I didn't see much t the Heritage tables. I found out more about what's going to be sold by talking to Fred Weinberg directly. By the way, Fred has a sign at his table asking everyone who stops by to wear a mask. Since I was wearing a badge holder with my vaccination card in it, he gave me a pass.

I only looked at gold and there were a lot of nice Pre-33 coins to pick from. High prices though. Over heard one dealer and customer talking about the prices on the coins. Dealers said it was a strong market for gold right now.

A classic example of why I don't usually give show reports. I tried to make an observation about the show and I get a response like this.

    Thanks for the report!

One suggestion for all: if you’re doing a longer post, write it out in word (or something like that) and then copy paste into here (that way you can save and not worry about losing it).
