It was absolutely pouring this morning. Most amount of rain around here for a while. It's nice now. Some clouds but there is sun and blue skies.

40 minutes away and I don’t plan to go. Virus is a consideration with all those mouth breathers not wearing masks. I don’t have anything I want to buy, I have a strong bid in the Stacks auction. I have nothing to sell. Don’t expect discounts on gold just because it’s taken a hit except if you’re selling. That only leaves exhibits. It will cost me about 50 bucks gas, tolls, parking double that if I buy a sandwich there. Don’t want to see anything that bad. It’s not over until it’s over I am the king of last minute decisions. Maybe I’ll get the 6 dollars from the mint today and I’ll feel like blowing a few bucks.

Here at the show now. Sort of a medium buzz. Quite a few YN's. 👍👍 The Tyrant display is amazing 👏. I will post a few more comments on this thread the next few days.

I was all set to attend from Monday until Saturday until American Airlines screwed me twice on my planned flight to O'Hare on Monday. They then told me they could get me there on Wednesday. I told them to go f$%k themselves. Unforgivable.

You don't want to hear my most recent experience with United! They will never see my but in the seat of 1 of their planes again! Thanks for this as I needed to be reminded to file my complaint with the FAA!

Almost time to pack up and go. Looking forward to meeting with several dealers I have been working with for the past few years. If the lines are not too long to view the Tyrant Collection and the 1933 DE I will do that also.

No, my wife has made other plans for us... coincidental? Something involving a life jacket size and a waiver.

American Airlines “bumped” me and my grandson until a 6am flight returning to Texas 9:30 am the next morning! CONFIRMED FLIGHT WITH BOARDING PASS! Never again. Though for some unknown reason I’m still going. Which of us is the bigger idiot?

I would not recommend anyone use AA at least well into 2022. They are having some serious problems with staffing. Having a buyout this year helped contribute to qualified pilot shortage. Not to mention a shortage of workers, period. I was booked on a non stop next month from Chicago to Rome and they just plain cancelled the flight and rebooked us on different days with a one hour layover in Dallas......you kidding me. I had to call and rebook it all myself and of course there was more money involved. I so detest commercial flying.

@air4mdc TOTALLY agree. You don’t happen to have a G7 that could stop by and pick me up? I mean your name says “air” and MD

I wish I did we would make the stop for ya. I play with much bigger stuff.....747-400/800, MD11, A300-600, B767-300 and B757 -200. All freighters, so wife can’t tag along, so we commercial. Hope I don’t get chewed out by the friendly forum member stating “ What’s this got to do with gold....🤣”

Sorry to hear about the problems with American. I flew up to the show on Tuesday morning via AA and had no problems at all. If fact, we got into O'Hare 15 minutes early, taxied right to the gate, and zipped right off the plane. Hopefully, the return home will be just as uneventful.

My AA flight out of Philadelphia was cancelled on Tuesday morning. My wife called me as I was driving to the airport saying I had been rerouted through Cincinnati on a flight that left two hours earlier than the Chicago flight! No way I was going to make that one. Turned around and went home. Next year!

Might as well post the complaint I sent to United Airlines. And, yeah the lying SOB's to avoid a fine from the FAA just swept us under the rug.

We sat at the Missoula Airport and boarded the plane over an hour late due to the United airlines plane before us not being able to get fuel. Then after we boarded we sat for another hour while the fuel had to be balanced between the wings on our plane. This is according to the announcement from the Pilot of our plane. Then we received a text from United that said it was due to a gate issue. Of course we missed our flight, ironically we saw it taxing right by us as we pulled into Denver. We hurried to customer service and while we were speaking with the agent we received a text that we had been booked on a flight to Chicago that was in the process of boarding! There were 3 of us in our party and 1 was able to get a flight the next morning out of Denver to Atlanta. He was put up in a hotel and received a meal voucher from United. Meanwhile we were dumped in the Chicago airport around 11:30-12:00. We went to customer service and asked if we could be moved to the flight that was a little over 2 hours later and if she could put us in a hotel. She looked at the problem with our fight and the problem had been changed to the delay was caused by thunderstorms which was an out right lie! Not only that we paid for upgraded seats which we did not receive on either of our flights. We are seriously thinking about calling the FAA as it's obvious to us why the record was changed. So we arrived at the Missoula airport at 12:30 with no opportunity what so ever to get anything to eat until the McDonald's opened at 4am in the O'hare airport. So we went 16 hours with nothing to eat in a freezing cold airport. Not only that we were told if we left the airport we could not get in til 4am. The security at the airport pretty much said we didn't want to to out around the airport...considering all the violence and crime going on in Chicago I whole heartedly agree. We walked through every terminal at the airport trying to find something to eat and there wasn't even a vending machine! In all my 62 years this is the worst travel experience I have ever had. I know nothing about the Chicago area and we were faced with spending quite a bit of money for a hotel, taxi, etc. if we were to avoid spending the night in the airport. The logistics of our situation just wouldn't work as it would have taken to much time for us to make the arrangements. The funny part is we are finally at a time in our lives where we have the time and the finances to start traveling. This experience is telling us to keep our feet on the ground and have control of our situation.
