I wonder if PCGS will re-slab them without having to pay for re-grading.

I don't think that is on the coins but has something to do with lighting and how the photo was taken.
The coins have dropped thru the insert.

Those S/N's are pretty close together, as in a batch order. Nice older solid gasket holders which were exposed to some pretty extreme high temperature. I wonder where the others are and how well they fared, if under similar circumstances. I would not have them reholdered unless there was a special circumstance / heirlooms.

I had a freshly slabbed coin that fell out of the gasket during shipping. PCGS reslabbed it at no charge including shipping both ways. Contact customer service to start the process.

In the back of a hot parked car with the windows up upright in a dark plastic slab box🤔

Extreme heat melted the insert?

did you get bored at the shop again and break out the magnifying glass?
Microwave?
Submitter selected optional gelatin gasket. It was discontinued very quickly.
Any vodka or rum added to that gelatin? Worth the crack outs at that point

The insert has turned into an amoeba and is devouring the coins.

They appear to be heat damaged inserts....Possibly a hot car as mentioned above - or some other source of environmental heat. Cheers, RickO

It’s heat damage like being in a fire (if you recall some of the threads about the Paradise Camp Fire, there were slabs that looked like that).
The coins believed they were wrongly encapsulated and tried to break out.
Why was only one labeled clad? And why in the first place? And do you think the 2001 is indicative of the time period?

I would keep them. Amazing look
