Would this be counting wheel damage or another type of damage?

This 1944 S Jefferson Nickel has some marks which due to the semi circular look appear to me to be damage such as counting wheel. What do you think?

Looks like the spotting/corrosion/verdigris that is common on war nickels but the pic is mighty grainy. The Silver magnesium and (mostly) copper alloy is not the most stable out there

Yes, these are the sellers pics and probably won't be mine.

Hard to tell from the pic but the wheel damage tends to be more extreme than what I can see in your pic
Just looks like a spot growing.
Random damage that hit between and included the 9 & 4 - not sure what exactly caused it.

My 2 cents (I guess 5c) as someone who has a specialist collection of these is that they are simply too common to not hold out for the perfect one for your set. Spots are a deal breaker as they are never get better

Looks like a spot of contaminant.... Not wheel damage....Might come off with acetone, but likely leave a spot looking just as bad. Cheers, RickO
