VAM Help - 1904-O Morgan

Hey Friends,

Looking for a little help here. Bought this coin recently, loved the look. Upon closer inspection found all kinds of VAM pointers.

Obverse:

  • Die crack from tip of back hair to above #9 Star
  • Die break from cap to under "U"
  • Possible doubled 9

Reverse:

  • Die crack from top of first "T" in States over "AT" to denticles
  • Heavy polishing in ribbon
  • Die Crack "UNI"
  • Polishing in D WE
  • Odd polishing(?) on first tailfeather

Die Break Closest match I can find is VAM-13. Any VAM experts care to weigh in?

    Thanks, Roy. I spent about an hour there before posting. It seems to match 13, but it wasnt quite exact

    I have not become involved with VAM's... Just not an area of interest - at least at this time. Maybe in the future. Sure have a lot of Morgan dollars, so likely some VAM's among them. Maybe when I get old(er) :D and have more leisure time. Cheers, RickO

    It looks to me like it is a VAM-13.
    Die crack over T-A-T-E of STATES.
