Taking a stab at it

Been learning a lot since I started collecting. Found some more doubling on a 1997 penny, so I thought I’d give my own opinion on it. This is strong mechanical doubling on the ONE in one cent. It’s a cool find that I will keep for reference.

Yes, I agree... Mechanical doubling. A good specimen for a reference set. Cheers, RickO

Good learning specimen. If you're into varieties/errors, check that obverse. See if the "ear lobe" is doubled. Big well known variety. I have one I found in CoinRollHunting. CRH.
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. Also look for Die Deterioration Doubling (DDD) - sometimes confusing it for MD

"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
I'd be more inclined to call this die fatigue or die deterioration doubling than machine doubling.
