The fact that it was bought from a facebook ad, makes me suspicious.
But Its listed as a VF and has the looks of an AU. toning and hit on the eagle breast makes me question authenticity.
What do you think. Genuine or counterfeit? And if Genuine what grade do you think it is?

Looks fake to me.
Regardless of where the seller acquired it, the coin doesn’t look genuine to me.

It's sad that there's no way to inform buyers about this while they still have a chance at getting their money back through Ebay for "not as described". By the time buyers figure it out, that very short window of opportunity has closed forever. You used to be able to contact winners before Ebay anonymized it.
You can still report them. I have reported the 1893-CC even though it sold almost two months ago.

i 100% agree. used to love helping those that bought counterfeits and duking it out with those listing them.
BUT between your post and rec's it did make me think that if we can get them removed nuked, then the buyer and seller won't be able to complete the transaction and i bet ebay can lock down the transaction and do a immediate refund. ebay does things fast, right?
a few times over the years they've done it with me when i sold to someone "seemingly" shady and when i've sold a couple things. usually just required me to do some info bona fide, then voila.

that's the backwards way of saying it's probably fake
buying raw coins is a gamble that many will take cause they think they are getting a good deal well sometimes they lose on that gamble
if going after silver dollars which are faked very often get one that is graded that way your risks acceptable and you have some hope of recovering your money if the coin is a fake
