Two more Newps for the Large Cent "Accumulation"

As always... thoughts, comments and grading opinions welcome...
1837
1853... I know, it's a Late Date and a low grade... but I like the color and surfaces... rim bruise notwithstanding...

Both VG10-ish....I generally don't like the green verdigris on higher grade coins, but on the lower grade coins it gives them a little more dimension and character.
Thanks... I thought there might have been enough meat on the 1837 to make F12, and a little bit of dirt doesn't bother me at that grade... especially for less than $20.
I saw the reddish patch, but I missed the green corrosion on the '53 in the auction pics. It didn't have the zoom option. Normally, ANY green is a hard pass for me on early copper. Had I saw it on this piece, I'd have saved $13. Again, not princely sums of money but cash I'd have used to buy something else...

Nice price and color on both. I'd try an acetone soak for both just to see if it helps the crud and verdi
Honest coins as they are
I wouldn't "do" anything at all to them, great as is and with the others.

I'm definitely not touching the 1837... here's the 1834 and 1836...
I'm sort of on the fence on the 1853. I could probably get the green patches off with a Q-tip, but previous experience tells me I'll probably not like what's underneath. But... on a $13 VG coin? Who really cares??

I like these two much better, and seem a better fit to the set you’re building. Both look solid F/F+.
Nice old copper, and they fit well together. I would remove the verdigris before it becomes a major issue.... Cheers, RickO
