09S-VDB ebay listing, look at the left wheat ear? Fake/Counterfeit YES OR NO?

It looks to be a three day listing,
low feedback,
If I'm correct I believe that that flaw in the left wheat ear is a fake/counterfeit marker?

Regardless of the left wheat ear - the "S" is not anywhere close to the 4 die pairs.
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
Mintmark position and left wheat ear is not needed.
Bogus coin from 20 feet away.
This is a very easy one to detect.......no doubt about it.
"“Those who sacrifice liberty for security/safety deserve neither.“(Benjamin Franklin)
"I only golf on days that end in 'Y'" (DE59)
This one screams fake!
You mean like the Balloon fonts among other serious issues.

Reported.
Definitely fake. Not even a good one.
Bogus for sure. Tsk
…somebody run those fingerprints through a criminal database already
Reported. Thanks for posting it here. When enough reports are sent, eBay will end the auction. The sellers description is wishy-washy at best. He knows exactly what he has.
Clearly a fake .... but still listed with 21 bids..... Hope it comes down before someone gets burned. Cheers, RickO
21 bids, $573.
so sad

MM position looks good for a die#3.
Doesn't matter. It's fake. Probably cast.

I want to thank you folks for postings like this. Being a greenhorn I would not have caught this. Any details you provide help someone like me educate themselves.
Start here: https://www.pcgs.com/news/counterfeit-vs-authentic-1909-s-vdb-lincoln-cents
Then... look at A LOT of 1909-S VDB's in various states of wear. It takes a little time, but you'll be able to recognize them quickly at that point and not even hesitate to walk/run away!

keep looking at the real ones and read threads where someone is asking about a coin, and you will begin to get a feel for the obvious counterfeits.
go to coinfacts and look at a real 9SVDB and compare the details of the lettering and Lincoln and you can see there are obvious differences.
Not seeing it.
I post these fake/counterfeit 09S-VDB's on here and its not to long and a big puff of wind comes along and "POOF" the listing can't be found!
I love it.
I started including the pictures of the coins in these listings due to popular demand (request) so people could still see the coin if the listings get taken down before others had time to view them.

I meant it being real.
I found out by route of hard knocks about the 09S-VDB counterfeits.
This coin is not just the "King Of Lincoln's" it is also the number one counterfeited US Coin!
Its been stated by some experts that there is more counterfeits of this coin then they are the genuine minted coin. I'm not an expert, but I've seen enough just on ebay to feel the same way.
Outside of ebay the chatter is these are commonly circulated via estate sales and of course flea markets.
The con's that distribute these fakes has No REMORSE about ripping someone off!
Its highly likely that there is hundreds of thousands of these frig**** things in coin collections that people paid high dollar for and they're fake, its more than just sad!
I spot of lot by just this one fact about the difference in the Philly Minted VDB and the San Francisco Minted VDB.

Opps!
well it made me go check the listing to find it had been taken down.
I could title the pictures of this coin "Krispy Cream Donut Fonts"

This is a different coin, this is the one I got ripped off on, that was before I found this forum. At the time I knew fake (counterfeits) existed but I thought they were cartoon'y enough that I could spot them with no problem, WRONG!
Look at the philly mint style VDB.

Thanks. What this tells me is that I better look real close and ask questions about any coin that costs very much or is considered rare.

Thanks to all who responded.
Took a look at coinfacts and the counterfeit link. This one looks like mintmark #2 (cocked a bit to the right?), VDB looks right. Sure see the difference in the fonts.
Am I getting on track thinking not uncirculated, AU details cleaned?
Also look at the raised bumps on the reverse. Usually indicates a counterfiet

Fake !!!!!
Wow there are some good fakes out there but this one is not.
Hoard the keys.
How in the hell can someone who sells coins call that uncirculated? (coinman_2000) I feel like the item should be reported just for the misleading title. Judging by the pits on it it looks like it was corroded so someone took a brillo pad to it or something.

That coin IS the pits!
