The 1916 DDO is pretty obvious even on low grade coins, and even dateless coins.

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

The 1616 Buffalo nickel is rare in all grades.

The doubling on the date will have to look exactly like the one shown below from coinfacts. Otherwise it's not the DDO

The only anomaly I see on your coin is the aforementioned planchet defect, possibly a lamination, in STATES. That adds no extra value whatsoever.

I see no doubling in the date on your nickel..... the number may be a little 'fat' due to wear.... Cheers, RickO

It is possible for any coin to be triple struck

Need pictures of both sides of the suspect coin

double or triple struck is not the same as a "doubled die".

A doubled die has a doubled image on the die used to strike the coin resulting in thousands of identical coins.

A double or triple or quadruple "strike" is due to a single planchet being hit multiple times with a normal die. Such a coin would be unique..and easy to spot.

Probably a die chip. It is definitely NOT the 16/16 variety.
