Seems quite nice for the grade they assigned way back.

Indeed. And I can imagine a dealer looking at it with the cert and saying “well let’s just agree it’s a nice XF.....now where’s ma Greysheet......”

For the 7070 format, I'm missing; 1. Draped Bush Half cent. 2. 1943 Steel Cent. 3. Capped Bust Half Dime. ( I know where one is at, but I think it's too much for the coin) 4. Both types of Seated dollars. 5. both modern dollars, SBA and Sac. I have some issues that aren't in the 7070 including gold.

    My thoughts.
I paid between XF and AU money for the piece which I think is fair. I think it's technically an AU53 or so with an old light cleaning that has toned but probably MA. I seldom encounter these certificates with and EF45/45 grade. I don't think ANACS was using the grade until the color photo certs. The two I have share one characteristic. both coins have AU detail with a light old cleaning.

Interesting to know that. Perhaps it was an effort at net grading?
And I agree, it looks AU to me also. I would’ve paid between xf and AU money in a heartbeat for it.

Looks like you're waay far along B) You should let yourself off the hook for the SBA and Sac. Sadly, I think you're more likely to find a 1944 Steel Cent with a cert than a 1943. :#

The sac. is the only coin there is no chance . It came out after they stopped the photo certs. Believe it or not I have an Ike, Clad Quarter and a Zincoln. I know where a proof Seated dollar is as well but It's ugly and expensive.

Beautiful piece! I agree... more middle of the road AU than XF... I aspire to something like that for my type set!

As far as the "Gold Page" goes for the 7070, I gave up. I'm not going to spend $75-100 or more on a page I can put into my 7070 when I can just incorporate Gold Type into a Box of 20. I think the 7070 gold page is also missing the $1 T-2 and the $3... the last two pieces for a Classic Gold Type Set...
