1923 Monroe Doctrine Centennial Los Angeles Stadium Compliments of Los Angeles Rubber Stamp Co

A recent Pickup for my "All things California" collection. I missed the brass The Courtship of Miles Standish And still kicking myself about it so this more common piece will have to do for now.
LeeG did a great write up on the celebration. It used to be here on the forum but can't find it now.
But, you can find his write up here

Los Angeles Rubber Stamp Company - James Monroe Token - Monroe Doctrine
Aluminum, 35 mm, 3.87 gm
Obverse:
James Monroe facing half left
COMPLIMENTS OF / LOS ANGELES RUBBER STAMP CO.
Reverse:
Los Angeles city emblem with flag, bear, eagle, castle, lion
MONROE DOCTRONE (sic) CENTENNIAL 1923
STADIUM, LOS ANGELES. CALIF.
CITY OF LOS ANGELES / FOUNDED 1781
This token was manufactured by the Los Angeles Rubber Stamp Company to be handed out at the Los Angeles Monroe Doctrine Centennial Exposition which was held in 1923.
They were then sold to motion picture companies for use as prop coins.
The token misspells the word "doctrine" with "doctrone".

Monroes are notoriously ugly and abused. Here is my PCGS MS64 which I can at least say is "not ugly"

Yowsers! Interesting.......I was reading more on the Hollywood involvement thing.
Pretty nasty back then. Not a whole lot better now......just without excessive killing
Only the now and then killings.
.
Btw, I noticed mine has an O beneath the I in DOCTRINE.
Are there different ones? If so how many?
.
Last question, how rare is the seated Liberty with Monroe mule token?

The medal artist shrunk Monroe's head into a triangle! In the BEP portrait below his head appears somewhat triangular, but not as severe:
I have two Monroes. Just got one the other day off Feebay. One of my favorite Commems. Have to take some pix and post
I like the Monroe half dollar... Was looking for one years ago since I lived in L.A. for several years.... However, I moved and never did get one. Cheers, RickO
The L.A. Rubber Stamp Monroe bust has been muled with a number of other 38mm LARS dies which have also been muled with each other (mostly done in copper nickel). I haven't seen a die linkage chart on these but it would be a worthwhile project.

I need to ask myself ......why, why do these type of things fascinate me and there is never any
good written material. I think when you @tokenpro and @Zoins and @DCW all of us retire
we need to communicate and put together all these different worthwhile projects.
.
I personally am trying to partially retire in one year and total in 3. What do you guys say we start
gathering info and work together ?

It's great you are going to retire soon!
