Wife got this in her change today but too bad it has some marks and scratches. I truly believe this is from an uncirculated roll. I believe the marks and scratches came from the machine when it's being rolled up. But what do I know... Lol. I'm just happy that I , I meant my wife found one lol.

Another question:. I noticed that the marsh coin is going for more than the others. Anyone know why?

    Yeah, RickO, me too. I am always checking esp. at the bank. When the teller is handing me back the difference in change, after I just exchanged my bag of coins in.

    That's great. Best thing for our hobby since the extra leaf Wisconsin coins ( 2004-D) got discovered in change. Who hears keys jingling ?

    My initial thought after first seeing your coin and not reading the comments, was that it's been in circulation/commerce for a while. Quite a few stains, dirt and grime. These W's coming out of "uncirculated" rolls (Loomis rolls and bank boxes) are loaded with mint luster.

    Unless your pictures are washed out and don't depicted the true look of the coin (in hand), the lusted looks completely gone on this coin. If your wife received it in change, chances are it's been in circulation for a while. If this coin came from an uncirculated roll, it would not look like this one. Depending on when she found it, the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller was released on 31 Aug 2020.

    Still a nice find!

    Yeah, I thought that too but the funny thing is that the next day I went to the same restaurant and brought some take out.

    I received three other shinny Marsh P quarters, I'm guessing its from the same roll. So I think the W one was just damaged while going through the process of being rolled up.

    Either way like you said, it's still a good find!
